JAMISON

Experience: 9 years

I love not just making and finishing an object by hand and the appreciation that comes with it, but also the idea that these knives will be used and loved for decades.

Stylistically I lean towards a more traditional Japanese shape and construction kitchen cutlery. Aesthetically, I enjoy textures and a more organic steel pattern as opposed or geometric or uniform.

I love the ability to create unique pieces, knife making is a unique opportunity to mix art with functionality. I love that it allows me to be creative.

My style would lean more towards fantasy inspired knives. I like flow and balance, typically more chef style knives with a nod to Japanese ideals. Anything weird with an organic feel, don’t really like things to look too clean or machined.

GREYSON

Experience: 9 years

I get to create one of the most useful AND attractive tools - knives. It’s a pleasure to work with my hands on a variety of interesting and beautiful materials. The end result are objects people can use every day, enriching their lives in more ways than one.

I gravitate more towards knives up for a wide variety of cutting tasks, rather than those that only excel in the kitchen. Synthetic handle materials have come a long way and are often engineered to be incredibly hearty and also aesthetically pleasing. On the other hand, the charm of natural materials such as figured wood is undeniable. I often marry the two!

I value high quality tools and creativity. I found making knives to be most rewarding. It is practical, reliable and alluring I like to make knives that is warm and inviting. Knives that are cool and fun. That is esthetically pleasing, feels great to use and high functioning which brings people joy to use.

I enjoy working mixing various natural and synthetic materials. I quite like classic black Carbon fiber and natural woods, Bocote. Snakewood and Black and white Ebony. Adding colors to knives using G10 material is always so much fun.

Experience: 6 years

Knifemaking is very multi-faceted and combines a multitude of interests for me. Design, metallurgy, woodworking, physics, materials science. Any of which one could spend an entire lifetime on.
I like to build knife designs from the ground up. I ask myself when designing if I were to make this entire object out of the simplest materials possible, would it still be attractive and highly functional? From there I start to dress it up.

My main focus is on core kitchen tools. Chefs knives, Nakiri vegetable knives, and I believe every kitchen needs a great paring knife.

ADAM

Experience: 12 years

12 years ago I got fed up with my kitchen knives and started the pursuit to make a better tool. It turns out that what I needed wasn't a knife that out-performed everything else next to it, but something that would challenge me and keep me coming back for more, keep me striving to get better at SOMETHING. I havent found anything else that fulfills that in the way that bladesmithing does.

I love japanese style knives with a modern element like some exotic handle materials, an intricate damascus pattern or a fancy take on a traditional handle shape.
